Real Box/Fake DIY/New Single
Dearest fans from the UK:

Apparently you have something called The Box. We've been told that getting the video for "Do What You Want" played on this box is a wonderful feat that will make OK Go so famous you'll print their heads on your currency. Sounds good to us. If it sounds good to you, as well, please call 09056 52 52 52 and quote selection number 136. Or text "BOX {SPACE} 136" to 86600.

Dearest fans from everywhere:

"Do What You Want" is currently #9 on the Fake DIY top 10 chart. Now, we don't mind The Streets having the #1 spot, but we're not going to settle for #9, are we? Click here to vote as frequently as your conscience allows.

Dearest fans from The UK, Again:

Our new single comes out on Monday. It's for DWYW and there's lots of lovely b-sides. Polish your ha'pennies, as you'll need about a thousand of them to pick up your copy.

Dearest Fans From Everywhere, Again:

OK Go is Tops In America. What the hell are you? Thought so. Don't let it bring you down. Go to Topsinamerica.com for a review of Oh No and an interview with Damian.

The Mugshot

Thank your favorite deity that this smirking criminal mastermind was brought to justice.

And then thank ours, The Smoking Gun, for helping us get the mug shot.

The J Stands For Jailbird
The rumors are true. Damian J. Kulash was arrested last night.

Here's the full story:

Late last night, while standing in front of the Orlando House of Blues, Damian Kulash was arrested and charged with "intent to take pictures and talk to fans." Also, there was a little matter of resisting arrest, which is the official charge.

The unofficial charge is "giving the wrong answer when a police officer asks you 'what part of move don't you understand?'" For those of you planning travel in the Orlando area, the correct response is not "I understood what you said; I just didn't do it." Damian didn't know that, so he was immediately handcuffed and taken inside the venue to chants of "Let him go!" (Had I been there the chants would have been "Jorge, NO!!! It's not worth it!" 'cause you know I got my boy's back.)

A bunch more cops were quickly summoned to help with all the standing around and not doing much, and eventually Damian, still handcuffed, was shoved into the back of a squad car and taken "downtown," a ride that became more fun when the SUV full of girls pulled up next to the cop car waving FREE DAMIAN signs. Damian thanks you, ladies.

Upon arrival, our hero was mugshotted, fingerprinted and thrown into a cell with a bunch of people who didn't want to sign the OK Go email list. Damian was locked up for about nine hours, during which time he ate corn flakes and made friends with a couple of guys, one of whom had rescued his longtime girlfriend from a crack den earlier that day, only to have her sic the cops on him when he came by her apartment to make sure she was doing okay. To that guy, I say: Dude--she just doesn't love you.

Damian was released this morning, and promises he'll be in fine fettle for Tuesday's show in Jacksonville. Until then, he'd like to address two rumors that have sprung up on the Internet in the last 24 hours: No, he wasn't drunk; and Yes, he did get the arresting officer to watch the "A Million Ways" video on the on-board computer. If that's not awesome, awesome doesn't exist.

Speaking of Jacksonville:

OK Go is playing at Jack Rabbit's tomorrow night. That's Tuesday, 3/14. It's an all-ages show, with OK Go hitting the stage at around 10:30. You should be there. The cops certainly will.

Our Newest Experiment: Fan Correspondents

We're trying something new with our YouTube group.

It's called OK Go Fan Correspondents, and here's how it works: We'll pick one Fan Correspondent for each show and give them a ten minute interview with one or more band members plus free reign to tape the show, unless the venue forbids it. Document the show any way you want--you can interview fans, fight the merch guy, and try to get bartenders to invent drinks named OK Go. It's all up to you.

There are only three rules:
1) The band interview will be no more than 10 minutes
2) You have to use your own video camera
3) You have to edit and upload your footage to our YouTube group within a few days of the show

This is a test run, but it seems like it could be a lot of fun. If you want to give it a shot, send an email to info@okgo.net with 'Fan Correspondent' and the date and town of the show. Right now we're only accepting one person for Orlando (tomorrow), one for Jacksonville (Monday) and probably two for Austin (over the weekend).

And if you're in Orlando, be warned: we can only get you an interview the afternoon of the show. You won't be allowed to video tape inside the venue.
Calling All Orlando, Jacksonville & Austin Residents
Hey. We're starting something in our YouTube group called OK Go Fan Correspondents. Here's how it works: For each show we'll pick one person to be the Fan Correspondent. Correspondents get a ten minute interview with one or more band members and free reign to tape the show, unless the venue forbids it. You can do anything you want in your attempt to document the show, including interview fans and police officers and try to get bartenders to create drinks named after band members. It's all up to you. There are only two rules: you get exactly ten minutes of one-on-one interview time with OK Go, and you have to edit and upload your footage to our YouTube group within a few days of the show.

This is a test run, but it seems like it could be a lot of fun. If you want to give it a shot, send us an email with 'Fan Correspondent' and the date and town of the show you're available for.

Great Albums with OK Go

First, read the headline: "OK Go is a group that distances itself from pretentious rock-star posing..." Then look at the photograph. Delicious! Listen to Damian and Tim talk about dancing, Diane Sawyer, and five albums that have influenced the band. Listen to the entire podcast, dirty words and all, at MP3.com.

Up The Tube With OK Go
We've started a group on YouTube, the video sharing site that you all know and love. They're going to be introducing a bunch of new features, and we're going to experiment with all of them. And we want you to experiment with them, too. We've put up the OK Go dance video and created an OK Go group with the hope of creating a big library of OK Go videos from the band and its fans.

It's easy to join, easy to upload videos, and easy to watch other people's videos.

Go to youtube.com/group/okgo and get started. Right now the group is sparse and ugly and only has one member: me. But it'll soon be the greatest YouTube group in the history of human endeavor, so get on the train before it leaves the station.

I'm serious, if there aren't 499 more members in the OK Go YouTube group by this time tomorrow, I'm going to write a very mean letter... To RUSTY!

The boys will be on Jonesy's Jukebox today, sometime between 1 & 2pm pacific coast time. You can listen live by clicking here, or by living in Los Angeles and having a radio tuned to 103.1fm.

If you don't know who Jonesy is, for shame. For shame!
