JC Penney Does an OK Go Commercial
JC Penney's new back to school ads are all over the television, and they feature a whole lot of OK Go. You can check them out at jcpenneybts.com and you can talk about how disappointed you are on our bulletin board. We don't care. Not only that, but we're playing another JC Penney/VMA show, this time in Los Angeles, at the Glendale Galleria. More details on the tour page. And check out photos from the last JC Penney/VMA show.

OKGO = ORGASMIC :)
Heee; and don't worry.
I don't mean it literally.

ANYHOW; I DO HEAR SOME OKGO on the JCPENNY site.
Too gosh darn bad I don't live in America.
I might be able to hear it on the commercials :D

OKGO RULES ALL :D♥

Whether its MTV or JC Penney's ads, people will tell you your "selling out" when all you try to do is get more fans to share your message with. So i'm happy you all dont care, because those who actually really support you guys and are true fans are ecstatic when they hear an OK Go song on a commercial.

I saw the commercial when I wasn't really paying attention to the TV (I was knitting) and started dancing. Then I realized that I knew the song! And it made me so happyyy. ^^ I mean, how often do you see a commercial where the background song's band is advertised? That's just awesome.

It was an excellent commercial. I'm glad to see you guys getting into mainstream culture more. You're such an amazing band that all it takes is a little advertisement to be a lot more popular.

i was dissappointed but then i realized that rather than jc penny getting exposure for ok go, ok go is helping to advertise jc penny because that place SUCKS. they need all the help they can get.

I like the JC Penney commercial and it introduced me to your band. I'm going to buy your Oh No CD and it's all because of the commercial. I probably won't shop at JC Penney, but at least I found OK Go.

You guys are great!

Katie

Don't you know it's because of JC Penney that we're in Iraq?! Their clothes get made in unlit warehouses by child sex slaves too.

I grew up on the "power pop" (don'tcha hate that term?) of such groups as Cheap Trick, The Cars, and (god forbid) The Knack. I'm old enough to have bought T. Rex albums new, although Marc Bolan was, to me, more about funk than power pop. Whatever.

This genre, for a good long while seemed to go dead, only to be revived by the likes of Matthew Sweet, Oasis, and a few others. In the last couple of years, new bands have emerged that, if Top 40 radio were still alive, they would be giants. Groups like Jet, and The Click Five. I was a fan, and bought the downloads.

SO when I found myself watching this JCPenney commercial (done in the Apple computer rock music commercial "style") and saying to myself "who the heck is that band?", I knew I had to have the download.

To be honest, and not to criticize, I thought Jet had cut another commercial track (I hadn't connected the "Ok Go" graphic to the music). But when I found out Ok Go was the name of the band, of course I went and bought 10 of their tracks.

Then, I saw that amazing video with the treadmills! As they say, whatta concept! What creativity!

Anyway, I think we all are in for some great music coming from Ok Go. I see a rivalry shaping up between them and Jet, and I am just gonna sit back and absorb the music.

I think Ok Go may have the edge on talent here, so go for it guys! Good luck. And kick some *sses.... :D

Regards, JM

When I saw that JCPenney commercial, I knew that I just had to Google the band playing at the background... And so I ended up in your blog. I think your band rocks. Just stay true to the music, keep your feet on the ground, and keep the great tunes coming! :)

great timing guys!

Iam sitting here and thinking wow - this band is supposed to come into my life where ever i turn they are there in the most unconvetional way. My friend sent me a link of your treadmill video - i was fascinated and registered your name in the recess of my memory...while iam watching tv, the ad for jcpenny is on and the music is addictive, i catch the name of your band on the poster and think - "i know this band" google them and realise they are one and the same.

great music and great timing guys!!!

keep it up :)
