"Oh No" is "In Stores"
The new album is out today! Pick it up in an actual store, or at places like iTunes and music.msn.com.

For fun, you can hear Damian talk about Oh No on NPR's All Things Considered this afternoon. While you're listening, check out a1000000ways.com if you haven't yet, as the boys are celebrating the release of the album by making it easier for you to get free music and spread the love.

Better yet, read some recent reviews and interviews (and if you find more, post them in the comments section):

E! Online, A-: "Just go buy this album already...OK?"

ign.com, 9.2: "OK Go returns to what made them great, but kicks the dial to 11 and delivers a more guitar-driven helping of pop wonderment"

Houston Chronicle, 3 1/2 stars: "...this is an album for sunny days and caffeine highs."

Dallas Observer: "The songs are sexier, fiercer and more diverse, and the production retains the energy of OK Go's live shows--an elusive feat for most bands."

Denver Westword: "OK Go is back with a sophomore release that puts its brilliant debut to shame."

allmusic.com, 4 stars: "OK Go has written an album that coats its incredibly accessible nuts and bolts with an effervescent rocket sauce, and that's just the way it is."

NY Post, 3 stars: "strong, irresistable pop 'n' roll..."

Kansas City Star interview with Tim: "One small step for bass players, one giant leap for rhythm-section kind."

altsounds.com interview with Damian: "I think the entire world of rock would be invigorated with dance wars going on."

MTV.com article: "crunchy guitar rockers 'Invincible,' 'Do What You Want' and 'It's a Disaster' mix the downtown punch of the Strokes with an ear for pop hooks."

Jim Derogatis: "too clever and way too smarmy for their own good... annoying... gag-worthy..."

I so love you guys. The new album is so insanely fantastic in every way. Come back to Tulsa very, very, very soon, okay?

In my haste, I bought the thing from Napster and forgot that would not give me the pretty paper innards. Ah well, it's not always easy to save the world, no?

Thanks, guys! I'm burning the thing now and saving it to listen to in my car so I can have the full listening experience.

See you in Seattle! I don't, however, have any puffy paints or shit like that so Mike Kent will have to depend on everyone else.

And I must say, you were sexy minxs at the Denver show. And that is nothing but good things. The show was awesome.

Hope you liked the candy!

This is the best birthday present I've given myself, ever.
I'm so glad that I traveled to two stores to find the CD. (And on sale no less!) You've provided me with hours of entertainment dancing around like crazy while there is no one else in my house.

Of course I'm telling everyone I know to buy it...I think they're tired of me talking about OK Go...they should obviously listen though.

Can't wait to see you guys live again!

So, how are these reviewers and critics getting "3 & 1/2" stars from your new CD?

They should be beaten with a stick; this album is incredibly 5-star worthy.

Keep the substance comin', OK Go.

Another excellent job boys.

After traveling to three different stores(I knew I should've just gone to Best Buy), I finally got it. I'm glad to report I was not let down.

Now... off to have another listen.

I've been having a stressful week, and when I got this album, I was giggling before I even bought the CD. Seriously. I almost cried when I didn't see it with the new releases. But I asked the clerk and he presented me with my own little sealed case of music magic!

My absolute favourite tracks are 'A Million Ways', 'It's a Disaster', 'No Sign of Life', 'Invincible', 'Let It Rain', and 'The House Wins'.

But I really do have a question. Who sings what tracks? Is it all Damian? If so, he really has a knack for changing his vocal chords!

I'd also like to thank all of you (Ok Go and their friends!) because when I'm feeling down, the first group I listen to is you guys. First song I listen to: Bye Bye Baby. You four are an inspiration. I live in a suburb of Chicago and I am almost too proud to say that you guys are from there. Thanks a TON!

And Andy, I love you already. Good luck with the rest of the tour!

just a question: when you search for both "ok go" and "oh no" in pitchforkmedia's archaic search engine, they bring you to an exasperating page that says i haven't entered anything to search for. when really, we both know that's not true. so either you've programmed the pitchfork search engine to discriminate against ok go fans, or pitchfork secretly has a large and embarassing crush on all of you.

i believe the latter.

more to the point, however- i like the new album, especially the snazzy wrapping.

and i have to have my dependency on pitchfork resolved. please send angry emails.

Arggggh!

I'm currently broke, but I dragged my mother to Sam Goody's at the mall today, just to be able to hold "Oh No" in my hands...

I've been obsessing about it for months, telling people whom I barely know that Oh No is about to come out. Most of them say, "What's Oh No?"

My response is usually something along the lines of, "Only the upcoming album of the best pop-rock band on the market today, OK Go."

I sat listening to All Things Considered this afternoon, to get my Damian fix (I usually prefer to read newspapers for my news, because I feel you're better able to pick and choose what you want to focus on...I get rather depressed listening to an hour of interviews with hurricane victims, but that's another story).

...And Sam Goody's didn't have it! I've been staring at the iTunes cover mournfully, but when I'm broke, I'm SERIOUSLY broke. My birthday is in a week, so I'm dropping hints like crazy. Otherwise, I'll have to wait until I start work in the fall and get some spending money of my own.

Withering away, sans Oh No!,

I've been listening to your sexy-wexy voices 24/7. Good CD, but it seems a lot different than your first. The sound seems heavier or something. Hard to convery with merely words on a screen!

Anyway, good job my darhhhling musicians....hand sculpted my angels, I swear. You guys are awesome stuff.

I have to say this album totally rocks! I dragged my parents and my boyfriend to Best Buy to get it because I knew they would. Since buying it yesterday, I've listened to it 5 times and already added it to my iPod.

I think this album is definitely more rock than the first album (though it is nonetheless still good). Finally being able to hear these songs from my stereo rather than just remembering them from seeing you live is great!

Lastly, I'm not sure if it's just my copy, but there's a Track 14 that in iTunes is listed as "Bonus." Is there supposed to be a bonus track? Because I got 30 minutes of nothingness!

i would just like to tell you guys that this album is amazing. you really know how to put a smile on someone's face and i love you guys for it! i absolutely love this cd and you guys and i really wish that you would come to North Carolina so i could see you live, then my life would be complete.
"you're so damn hot!"
love,
Mor

Oh No = good.

However $4.95 for 9027 KM. (music.msn's price) is a bit expensive. And by a bit I mean a LOT. I can't say that I have listened to the entire track yet but I did open it up in my audio editor and listened to the few parts where there are some sounds slightly louder than the constant hum. I heard a girl laughing and maybe some belt/zipper like sounds. Maybe some people sleeping? Or like, I don't know, gettin it on- major quiet like.

Do you remember Sleep, the Blandy Snorehall film that was just a person sleeping for 8 hours? Yea that sucked too.

Please stick with he brainy, introspective, whitty , pop music thinger. Leave concpept art to he Russians.

To Sam Goody's credit, they did have Oh No when I came upon some cash and went back today.

I love it.

Love it, love it, love it.

This much:

<---------------------> (Not to scale)

I must echo the collective perplexitude that has been expressed regarding "Bonus." Is it "34 minutes and 46 seconds in the recording studio (minus the lovely men of OK Go)?" Or, perhaps, "34 minutes and 46 seconds of a hot, hot party (going on inside a soundproofed room)?"

It reminds me of that classical piano piece (John Cage "wrote" it, I think) where the pianist comes on stage and sits down at the piano. The audience waits in anticipation, sure the pianist will begin to play.

4 enormous minutes and 33 enormous seconds of coughing, nose-blowing, and babies crying later, the pianist stands up and leaves.

So...I've got 6 minutes and 4 seconds of "Bonus" left. And nothing interesting has happened.

It just makes me miss OK Go.

Anyways, you know I'm going to end up listening to it multiple times, trying to draw some deeper meaning from it. I'm going to stare forever at the wallpaper-backed portraits inside the liner notes. I'm going to read the lyrics (along with the music) until they're burned into my brain and I literally sweat musical brilliance.

Ah, OK Go! Ah, humanity!

Love to you all,
Elizabeth

To the people wondering about the bonus track: in Damian's interview at altsounds.com (the link to which is posted in the blog we are all commenting on) he states that it is 35 minutes of his girlfriend sleeping.

Haha! Thanks for including that last blurb. Hee hee ha.

The music video is amazing--I am happy that it is makin' waves.

*reads the interview*

*sheepish*

That makes me feel pretty dumb. But thanks.

I still think the 4:33 analogy works, though. I'd rather have 35 minutes of OK Go than 35 minutes of Damian's girlfriend sleeping (not that she isn't, doubtless, a wonderful girl...).

If I were to make excuses, I would blame my ignorance on the fact that I'm too busy mourning having to miss the LA show in two days due to being out of town.

I too had been perplexed about the mysterious "Bonus" track. I was just playing as loud as my computer goes and finally heard something. However, it seems to be nothing but noises of people moving around, picking things up, and so on. But it's definitely not the sound of someone sleeping... Hmmm...
