UK Edition, Epilogue
Well, we're back in the grand old U.S. and/or A (and fresh off of our Good Morning America performance -- Tim is telling people that Diane Sawyer smelled like fresh apples, but he secretly confessed to me that it wasn't true.) The UK treated us well, and we tried to return the favor. I heard from a bird that we'll be back in the Gregorian new year, and possibly again in the Chinese one. Cheers!

Here are some notes to my new friends, the British (I know we just met, but may I call you friend?), about what they did right and where they desperately need to improve:

Ace:

Talkin' funny
Quality bedding
Free breakfast
Ability to drink
Brighton
Castles and swords and dragons and stuff
General prettiness

Bullocks:

Everything tasting blandy... except the beer
In fact, food in general
Driving on the wrong side of the road
Twin beds instead of doubles
Wolverhampton
Taking three hours to drive 50 miles
Gray rainyness

All in all, a great first try, England. Congratulations. Now, please take some time to consider these suggestions and weigh their feasibility. We'll be back in a couple of months, to discuss your headway. Until then, give us a call with any questions; OK Go is ready to help.

Love,
Rusty

Glad to hear you guys are back. When are you coming back home to Chicago? I'd love to catch a show. I was also in the boat of not knowing that you all had a new record coming out. You should totally kill your PR guy with a rusty spoon!

P.S. My word verification is "puyah," which is almost "boo-yah!"

ditto on the sacking of PR guy.
if you've already tried sacking him, perhaps you should also sack the person incharge of.... well... sacking...
only slightly redundent.

yes. mention more often in post as subliminal coaxing the new album.

and just because its bugging me: "bollox"
dropped jaw, long "o"
they made me do it!!

Not sure what to make of this, but I guess I'll have to re-read and check out the other offerings to make more sense of it.

To Andy: Audacious! Hilarious! I love it! How cool is it that you can say that stuff to the British and not spark off a flurry of huffy posts. Must be your fabulous sense of humor, your good looks, or both.

To the above contributors who have been living under a rock and assume it is the PR guy's fault: What the hell?!?!!

These poor guys have been touring their blessed socks (and underwear) off, going on TV every five minutes, blogging and audio-recording volumes and volumes of fresh material, writing innovative "tell a friend" computer programs and otherwise plugging their new music in every way imaginable...even to the point of stopping on the roadside and selling merch to teens directly out of their vehicle! They are the best damn PR and viral marketing machine I've ever seen.

As far as putting more album mentions in the blog, your homework assignment is to go back and re-read Jorge's posts. If he has ever missed an opportunity to include about six "album for sale" links in his posts, I'll be a monkey's uncle. In fact, for good measure he usually includes at least ten other directives for us to buy, download, vote for, read, forward, review, kiss, photograph and promote OK Go in any way we can. (Which we all do quite willingly, of course.)

So if you want to fire anybody, you'll have to fire the OK Go fans, cuz we are s'posed to be the PR guys, duh! Including you.

OK, sorry, rant over. Now back to your regularly scheduled program...

JESUS...talk about an obsessed fan. I was just saying that I stumbled over this blog and that's how I found out about the new album. I am not like this hard-core, die-hard fan, I just liked their last album and would have like to have heard on the radio or something that the new album was coming out. Chill out.

Well, I am very glad you found out the album. Doesn't matter how it happened. And you're both right: we've been trying our hardest to get the word out, but it's still been quite difficult. For everyone who knows about it, there's many more who don't. And that makes Jorge very angry. So, please call your radio stations and start requesting "A Million Ways." That makes Jorge very happy.

Yours,

jorge

I would only contest the "food" being bullocks. Fish and chips more than make up for any other unfortunate culinary disasters...

Carry on then!
