Chapter Forty-Seven: Deep In The Heat of Texas
Greetings, computer-user. It's been a while. I missed you.

Now that OK Go is back on tour, Jorge gave back the keys to blog. Booyakasha. Respect. Recognize.

This little run with the Redwalls promises to be a fun one. We get to: a) play headlining shows again, b) perform on national television for many millions of people, c) sit in 105 fucking degree Houston heat, d) convince Tim to grow a skullet, e) do assorted awesomeness just because it's awesome.

I met the the Redwalls today and they are all very nice men. I was impressed by how miniature some of them are. I've always loved smallish-humans, and I always will. It made me insanely jealous to think that at the age of 18 I was doing something as galatically stupid as going to college, when I could have been doing what I'm doing now: sitting next to Dan Konopka in the back of a van for days on end. (He smells great, BTW, like dog's ass processing plant.)

Jorge's already mentioned this, but just to iterate, Damian and I created this website, a1000000ways.com, to spread the word about "A Million Ways". (Seriously -- no record company lackeys here. Our own blood, sweat and love-tears went into this little slice of web heaven. When you spend 12 hours in the backseat of a Dodge Magnum with two laptops and a lead singer, magic happens.) If you have any comments about the site, please post in the comments section of this entry. We'll be checking. We want to make sure the site's working and spreading the message well. If your friends are having problems listening to the song, or don't understand how it works, or whatever, we want to know, because we want to to help them. Service is our passion.

Finally. We've missed your blogs Rusty. I'll give you extra brownies soon. Just don't tell Tim.

The site has been working fine for me so far. The only problem is that my friends don't want to listen. Probably because I've forced them to listen to it many times before. One thing I've noticed is that when you click on the "check the status of your invitations" thing, the picture of you guys gets a bit split in half, so your legs aren't attached to your bodies. I don't know if you wanted it to look like that or what, but it gets kind of distracting and creepy if I stare at it too long.

The Houston heat sucks, but your show rocked. The site works fine for me and I'll try to get my friends to get me free downloads. And just so you know, my new heroes, in order are:

George Washington

I'm not going to wash my left breast for at least 24 hours.

I just spent half of my lunch break downloading the "A Million Ways" dance onto my coworker's computer. She's in her mid 50s and she LOVED it. You should have heard her giggle. Then she emailed the link to her granddaughters.

The stars at night, are big and bright....Deep in the heart of Texas. Have a great time in Austin tonight. I love that city.

Wow. Sorry the Houston heat sucked as usual. But you guys rocked anyways. Shame that my friends and I couldn't stay afterwards and chat(possibly perform the A Millions Ways Dance that we promised Tim[if he even remembers]). So, dorry Dan if we freaked you out before the show. But, if that was ackward, my supposedly "shraight" friend [the tall asian kid(if you even remember)], claims he'd do you any day. Yeah, that probably made it worse. Whatever.Well, you should come back soon [incentive=if you do, I pormise to fan you while playing so the heat doesn't suck so much.]

I suppose you guys just don't want me at any of your shows. Always coming to Houston on days when there's no chance of me making it.

105 degree weather and piles of schoolwork without OK Go is just no fun at all.

Oh, no worries, I'll catch you eventually. (But that means you have to come back! Winter in Houston is slightly less hot... if that helps any.)

I can't wait to see you guys on this tour. I'm assuming you WILL be doing the dance. If not, I will be very, very upset. I'll be at the Anaheim and Hollywood shows so I better see that spiffy dance!!

"Dog's ass processing plant?" WTF?!?! Are you sure it's not chicken soup? Tell him to use more AXE, I hear that works well. ;-)
